5-Aminovaleric acid is used in the study of metabolic changes in male germ cells (toxins) after 24 hours of extinguishing cigarette smokes. Also used in the comprehensive characterization of the human saliva metabolome and in identification of different metabolites like sphingomyelins, phosphatidyl cholines, vitamins and trace elements in human saliva which showed diurnal variation.
