Benzo[e]pyrene is an isomer of benzopyrene (B205800) that exhibits mutagenic and carcinogenic activity in rodents. Benzo[e]pyrene is most commonly found in cigarette smoke and is a toxicant to human retinal pigment cells in vitro by inducing cell death by activating various caspase pathways.
