Lanthanum(III) Trifluoromethanesulfonate

Lanthanum(III) Trifluoromethanesulfonate is a catalyst that is used for the trans-esterification of Jatropha curcas L. oil with methanol and higher alcohols. Studies on rats and mice showed that Lanthanum(III) Trifluoromethanesulfonate is a moderately hazardous substance causing slight irritation of the skin and that the maximum permitted concentration in the workplace is 2.0 mg/m3.
