Interior of tube wall is coated with K₂ EDTA to bind calcium ions and block the coagulation cascade. Erythrocytes, leukocytes and thrombocytes remain stable in EDTA anticoagulated blood for up to 24 hours

Blood smearing should be done within three hours after blood collection
Clear as glass with equal or better performance
Molded to be virtually unbreakable, providing a better level of safety than glass
Tubes have an 18-month shelf life from the date of manufacture
