(S)-2-Amino-N-[2-(2-chlorobenzoyl)-4-nitrophenyl]-propanamide is an intermediate in synthesizing Meclonazepam (M202790), which is a drug of a benzodiazepine class similar in structure to Clonazepam (C587080). It has sedative and anxiolytic properties. It has also shown to have anti-parasitic effects against the parasitic worm Schistosoma mansoni.
