2-Methoxyethanol is used in the synthesis of 2-aminothiazoles in the treatment of prion disease (1). 2-Methoxyethanol is also used in the preparation of Rho-associated kinase inhibitors or (ROCK) inhibitors, for treatment of cardiovascular disease (2).
