Anhydroheliotridine is an impurity in the synthesis of (+)-Echimidine N-Oxide, which is a hepatotoxic pyrrolizidine alkaloid. Different extracts and echimidine-N-oxide from Symphytum sylvaticum Boiss. Subsp. sepulcrale, has been shown to have Antifungal activity.
